2021 March Madness Sets

Purdue—DHO Weave Baseline Stagger

  • Starts with 3-2 spacing and the action starts with 1 initiating a DHO with 2 on the wing.

  • 2 continues across the top of the key to initiate a DHO with 3 as 1 lifts back to the slot.

  • After handing the ball of to 3, 2 sprints off a baseline staggered screen from 4 & 5.

  • 3 comes off the DHO from 2 and swings the ball to 1.

  • 1 can hit 2 coming off the baseline stagger or hit 5 if X5 helps off on 2.

 

Ohio—Triple Gap Attack

  • Starts in 4-out spacing with 1 passing the ball to 4 and cutting through to the opposite corner.

  • On the pass, 3 lifts to the high wing.

  • 4 swings the ball to 3 as 5 swings to strong side dunker spot.

  • After swinging the ball to 3, 4 shallow cuts across his face.

  • As 4 cuts across his face, 3 drives off 4’s cut to attack the triple gap in the middle of the floor.

 

LOyola—Stagger Zoom

  • Starts with 5-out spacing and the action is initiated by 1 centering the ball to 5 and cutting over the top of 5 towards 4.

  • 1 & 4 then set a staggered pin down for 3 in the corner to zoom off and receive the DHO from 5.

  • After handing the ball off, 5 rolls to the rim while 3 tries to turn the corner and attack downhill.

  • 1 & 4 lift to fill behind 3’s drive for a possible kick back pass.

 

Iona—Pistol Flare Ricky

  • Starts with 5 out spacing - 3 button hooks to set a step up screen for 1.

  • 5 trails to set a flare screen for 3 to flare to the top of the key.

  • After setting the flare screen, 5 turns and re-screens for 3 to come off and receive the pass from 1.

 

Michigan State—Stacked Spain PNR

  • 4 & 5 start stacked above the free throw line with 2 & 3 in the corners.

  • 5 steps up to set a ball screen for 1 to attack and rolls to the rim.

  • 4 steps up to screen 5’s immediately after 5 sets the ball screen.

  • After screening 5’s man, 4 pops to the top of the key to receive the pass from 1 if 1 cannot enter it to 5.

  • 4 can look to shoot/drive on the catch or go high-low to 5.

  • On 4’s catch, 3 blast cuts to the wing

  • If 4 cannot shoot/drive or go high-low, he can swing the ball to 3 who can look to make the entry to 5.

 

UCLA—Horns Double Gap

  • Starts in Horns alignment with 2 cutting to the opposite wing.

  • 1 attacks the double gap as 2 cuts in front of his face looking to get downhill and finish.

 

Drake—Horns Elbow Clear

  • Starts in Horns alignment with 1 passing the ball to 3 and cutting over the top to the strong side wing.

  • 5 then cuts across the lane to the opposite block.

  • Once 5 cuts across his face, 3 attacks middle to get downhill.

 

Michigan—Ram Ghost Gap Attack

  • 5 sets a ram screen for 2 in the weak side dunker spot to sprint into a ghost screen for 1.

  • After setting the ram screen, 5 vacates to the weak side dunker spot.

  • 2 sprints into a ghost screen for 1 - 1 can attack downhill or hit 2 as he sprints out of the ghost screen for a shot.

 

Virginia—Box Elevator Throw Back

  • Starts in a box alignment with 2 setting a pin down for 3 to cut out to the wing.

  • After setting the pin down, 2 sprints through an elevator screen by 4 & 5 to the opposite wing.

  • 1 passes the ball to 2.

  • 2 then dribbles towards the baseline as 4 & 5 sprint to set a staggered screen for 1.

  • 1 sprints off the stagger from 4 & 5 to receive the catch and shoot from 2.

Oral Roberts—Horns Flare Ricky

  • Starts in Horns alignment with 4 stepping up to receive the entry from 1.

  • 5 steps up to set a flare screen for 1 as 4 initiates a DHO with 2.

  • After setting the flare, 5 turns and re-screens for 1 to sprint off and receive the catch & shoot from 2.
