
2022 March Madness Sets
Arizona—Swing Veer
Starts with a 4-out set up—1 swings the ball to 4 who passes it to 2 at the wing.
After passing to 2, 4 thru cuts to the weak side corner and 1 and 3 rotate to fill.
2 passes the ball to 1 in the strong side slot.
5 sprints like he is going to set a middle ball screen for 1.
Instead of setting the ball screen for 1, 5 sprints out at the last second to set a pin down for 2 to use and receive the pass for 1 for a shot or drive.
Houston—Floppy Corner Seal
3 & 5 set a baseline staggered screen for 2 to sprint off of and receive the pass from 1 at the wing.
5 then sets a 2nd screen for 3 to sprint off to the strong side corner.
After setting the 2nd screen for 3, 5 turns and seals his defender to receive the entry from 2.
Kansas—Floppy Blind Pig
4 & 5 set pin downs for 2 & 3 (located on the blocks) to pop to the wings.
After setting their screens, 4 & 5 lift to the elbows.
1 can pass to either 4 or 5. On the pass, the strong side wing (2) cuts back door to receive the pass from the elbow (4).
Miami—Iverson Wedge Ghost
Starts in a 1-4 set up with 2 Iverson cutting to the opposite wing to receive the pass from 1.
As 2 is cutting, 3 vacates to the weak side corner.
After 1 passes to 2, 4 sets a cross screen for 5 to dive to the strong side dunker.
After passing to 2, 1 cuts to the weak side corner while 3 lifts to the weak side wing to create false motion.
After setting the cross screen for 5, 4 turns and sprints into a ghost screen for 2.
The ghost screen by 4 creates a double gap for 2 to attack.
Michigan—Pistol Dribble Give & Go
2 sets a step up ball screen at the wing for 1 to get to the corner.
After setting the step up, 2 vacates to the top of the key to create space for the 2 man action.
5 cuts to the the strong side elbow to receive the pass from 1.
After passing to 5, 1 immediately cuts back door to receive the give & go pass from 5.
Providence—Horns Flip Flare
Starts in a horns set p with 1 passing to 3 on the elbow.
1 then cuts over the top of 3 to receive the hand off.
After handing the ball off, 3 cuts off a flare screen from 5 for a catch & shoot opportunity.
Purdue—weave high low
Starts with a 3-2 set up. 1 initiates a DHO with the shooter (2).
2 dribbles cross court to initiate a DHO with 3.
3 then passes the ball to 1.
After handing the ball off, 2 cuts off staggered baseline screens from 4 & 5 to the strong side corner.
4 then cuts to free throw line to receive the pass from 1.
As this is happening, 5 turns and seals his defender to receive the pass from 4.
Saint Peters—Horns curl re-Screen Lob
Starts in a horns set up with 1 passing to 5 on the elbow and cutting over the top to the strong side wing.
4 then sets a corner pin for 2 to curl.
After curling, 2 turns and sets a back screen for 4 to cut to the rim and receive the lob from 5.
UCLA—Empty Spain PNR
1 dribble pushes to the low wing.
5 then sets a wing ball screen for 1.
As the ball screen is being set by 5, 2 sets a back screen on 5’s defender as 5 rolls to the rim.
After setting the back screen 2 then pops for a potential catch & shoot opportunity (if 1 cannot get downhill and 5 is not open).
If 2 cannot catch & shoot, he can look to make a post entry to 5.
North Carolina—Horns Corner Pin PNR
Starts in a horns set up. 1 dribbles to the slot which triggers 4 to vacate the elbow.
5 then sets a middle ball screen for 1 to attack.
As the ball screen is happening, 2 sets a corner pin for 4 and 3 lifts for a possible kick back pass.
